Southeastern Wins Major Awards from Prestigious Industry Organizations

Southeastern Printing has won a total of 44 awards from the Printing Association of Florida's annual "Florida Print" competition, including trophies for Best of Show, Division III; Best Annual Report; Best Poster; and Best Use of Small Press (Digital). The company also received a total of 11 national awards from the Printing Industries of America "Premier Print Awards" - five "Awards of Recognition" and six "Certificates of Merit" This is the largest number of awards Southeastern has ever won from the PIA in a single year.

Southeastern Printing Establishes Tampa Bay Area Offices

Southeastern Printing has established an office in the Tampa Bay area, to provide a wide variety of communication products, services and resources to Florida's west coast and Orlando markets. Mike Thomas, Director of Business Communications, manages the location. Thomas has over 37 years of print communications expertise and has lived in the Tampa Bay area for 43 years.

Southeastern Printing Announces New President of its Commercial Division

Don Mader, CEO of Southeastern, has named John Torrey to serve as the company's commercial division president. "We are very pleased that John has joined our organization. He brings valuable experience, energy and management skills to the company. I look forward to working with him and am excited about what Southeastern can achieve under his leadership."

Torrey has a successful 30-year career of service to U.S. printers, most notably as vice president and general manager responsible for printing and packaging equipment at International Paper's xpedx business, the world's largest distributor of printing papers, graphics supplies and equipment. Before assuming the xpedx technologies post in 2008, Torrey served as general manager of the xpedx Northern California division for five years and, under his tenure, the division became one of the company's highest performing as measured by sales growth, revenue and profitability. He also helped integrate two large acquisitions by xpedx in the highly competitive California market and won many top annual sales and management awards.

Prior to joining xpedx, Torrey worked as a salesman calling on printing companies and corporations for paper and packaging manufacturers and distributors. A Maryland native, he earned a BA in economics from Bucknell University in Lewisburg Pennsylvania.
